Drivers with unlawful LED light bars mounted on their vehicles should expect to receive a ticket for operating such devices on city streets, according to a statement from city authorities.
The Casper Police Department reported receiving several complaints regarding the use of such products on the leading of passenger vehicles, according to Sgt. Jeff Bullard.
“We recognize this is a trend which has use for work and recreation,” Bullard stated Friday. “But when applied to City streets, these lights operate far beyond your allowable limits of the condition and federal lighting for passenger automobiles.”
Bullard cited problems regarding public security in announcing that officers will certainly start issuing citations to drivers who use light bars on Casper streets.
“We require cooperation in utilizing these devices in the areas and manner for which these were designed,” Bullard’s declaration concluded.
